I have heard of Hello Hello, but not seen it in a loooong time. Not on the screen here anymore. I chose another, because the ones named above half apply to England and half to the USA. And it happens I don't live in either countries. Nay give me old Say AAh.... a funny comedysoap about the doctors family, returned after more than twenty years on screen again (in Holland )

Ah good! You can have more than 1 vote!
I voted Frasier and Others. With comedy I like so many it's really impossible to single even one or two out - I think the only one up there I don't 'like' and that's only because I've never watched it is Everybody loves Raymond. I would add some shows that have made me laugh more than others such as Gimme Gimme Gimme (gotta love Kathy Burke and James Dreyfus); Red Dwarf; Thin Blue Line; Blackadder; Malcolm in the Middle; Simpsons; Family Guy; Vicar of Dibley (which I resisted like mad at first but Dawn French is so funny) - loads of them.
Now you know why I'm so foo.....

I put the ones I find funny... and I am ashamed that I missed out Blackadder, Red Dwarf, and Vicar of Dibley, as I love those to.

If Seinfeld was up there I'd choose it or Just Shoot Me (always worthy of a good blast of soda out the ol' nostrils that one, hehe..)

The Office (either UK or US version) is the best.
Other comedies I never seem to tire of are Arrested Development and Seinfeld.

The Office Opal? Well I never!
I couldn't watch the UK one much - far too close to the truth in many offices I've worked in...

I am speaking as Wendir though I posted the Poll as Zaphira - I avoided the Office. Then I tried Extra's and watched the first series but could not be bothered with the second series. I find I want to punch Ricky Gervais ... though he was brilliant as a voice-over in Valiant. That is the only role I like him in.
Then again my sense of humour is more my parent's generation than this generation. About the most recent comedy I find funny is Friends... and even that is nearly five years since the last episode!
My apologies for not including anything modern, but I am a bit out the loop with modern stuff as I tend to watch DVD's of the British old school comedy circa early Seventies to early nineties ... (imo the best era of comedy!)

Ah Extras! How could I have forgotten...I love that one too.
I can see how some people would want to punch Ricky Gervais...but for some reason he just cracks me up. Definitely a "love him or hate him" type.
Other than the Office and Extras I don't really know any other more modern Bristish shows. (I recently tried watching one that was apparently a big hit, but I can't remember what it was called...something about two oppsite sex roomates and it had a sci-fi sort of twist. I couldn't get through it)
Past ones I enjoyed a ton were Month Python, The Young Ones, and Absolutely Fabulous.
Can any of you English types recommend any other British shows to add to my NEtflix queue based on what I have listed here?

Blackadder would be a great one as Rowan Atkinson, Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie and Miranda Richardson are known globally and are household names through out most of the world. Plus it is EXTREMELY hilarious.
May be also A Bit of Fry and Laurie too. I have only seen sketches but those two crack me up ... and though not a sit-com as such I would also recommend Jeeves and Wooster, it is absolutely funny and is a satire on English landed gentry in the late 1920's.
The Two Ronnies had worked with John Cleese and Michael Palin I believe wrote sketches for them so you may want to give them a try to.
And if you like them watch Porridge, Open All Hours, Only Fools and Horses ... Um ... am I a geek?
Oh, and in The Void thread Favourite Youtube clips I posted an entire Allo Allo episode called The Gateaux in the Chateaux... voted one of Britians BEST comedies in a Channel Four Poll I think ... and if it wasn't well ... it's still very popular and most people of a certain age love it!

The only comedy show I willingly watch is Friends. And I hate it. But Joey's so stupid that I've gottta keep watching.
